Resort Guide

Getting Around Disney's Pop Century Resort on a Mobility Scooter

Everything you need to know about riding a scooter at Pop Century — 1050 Century Drive, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830.

Pop Century Overview & Classic Hall

▾

Disney's Pop Century Resort sits at 1050 Century Drive, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830. It opened in 2003 and is themed entirely around 20th century American pop culture — the music, movies, TV shows, toys, and fads that shaped each decade. The resort is divided into five themed sections: the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. Each one is decorated with giant icons from that decade — a massive Mickey Mouse phone in the '70s, a 60-foot Big Wheel in the '90s, bowling pins in the '50s, Play-Doh cans in the '80s, and a flower-shaped pool in the '60s.

The main building is called Classic Hall, home to the lobby, Everything Pop Shopping & Dining food court, the Fast Forward arcade, the Petals Pool Bar, and the Disney Skyliner station. The Skyliner is the resort's biggest perk — it connects Pop Century directly to Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios without a bus.

Classic Hall is our meet-and-greet location. We meet you inside the lobby, hand over the scooter, walk you through the controls and charging, and stay until you're comfortable — no unattended drop-offs, no guessing how to operate it.

Rooms, Buildings & Where to Store Your Scooter

▾

Pop Century has about 2,880 rooms, all standard-value rooms that sleep up to 4, with two double beds or one king. Every building is three stories with an elevator, so you never need to carry a scooter up stairs. Some rooms include a 5th-sleeper option (a small pull-down bed) — good for families of five.

The 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s buildings sit closest to Classic Hall and the Skyliner. The 1980s and 1990s buildings are farther out — an easy scooter ride but a long walk. Preferred rooms sit in the 1960s buildings, closest to the main pool and Classic Hall. Accessible rooms with roll-in showers and grab bars are available — request one with Disney when you book. Disney asks that mobility devices not be left in hallways or walkways, so plan to store your scooter inside your room.

Pro tip: Request a ground-floor room so you can ride in and out without using an elevator. The 1960s section is the most convenient for everything — food, pool, and Skyliner.

Scooter-Friendly Pathways at Pop Century

▾

Pop Century is laid out along Hourglass Lake, with Classic Hall in the center and the five decade-themed buildings radiating outward. Paths are wide, flat, and mostly concrete or brick pavers — very comfortable riding for any of our scooters, including three-wheel models. A walking and riding path circles the lake and connects to Disney's Art of Animation Resort next door.

From your room, expect a short ride to:

  • Classic Hall — lobby, Everything Pop Shopping & Dining food court, Fast Forward arcade, and the Skyliner station
  • Hippy Dippy Pool — the main 1960s feature pool, shaped like a giant flower with flower-shaped water jets
  • Bowling Pin Pool — the 1950s pool, shaped like a giant bowling pin
  • Computer Pool — the 1990s pool, complete with giant keyboard decorations
  • Petals Pool Bar — the poolside bar near the Hippy Dippy Pool
  • The Skyliner station — at Classic Hall, direct to Epcot and Hollywood Studios

There are no steep hills or stairs on the main routes. Watch for pooling water after a Florida afternoon storm — pavers near the pools and around Hourglass Lake can be slick, so slow down on turns.

Disney Skyliner & Bus Transportation With a Mobility Scooter

▾

Pop Century has direct Disney Skyliner access — the station is right at Classic Hall. From there you ride directly to:

  • Disney's Hollywood Studios — one line from the station
  • Epcot International Gateway — transfer at Caribbean Beach
  • Disney's Art of Animation Resort and Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort — connecting stations

Skyliner cabins are wheelchair- and ECV-accessible, with a separate stationary loading cabin so you roll on at your own pace. Cast Members will slow or stop the line for you. Disney's published maximum mobility device size is approximately 32 inches wide by 48 inches long — all of our scooters fit.

For Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, the water parks and Disney Springs, Disney bus service is available from the bus stop at Classic Hall. All buses are equipped with ramps or lifts. Most carry only two devices at a time — allow extra time at peak hours.

Meet-and-Greet Delivery at Pop Century

▾

Scooter King Orlando uses meet-and-greet delivery only at Disney's Pop Century Resort, 1050 Century Drive, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830. We do not leave scooters unattended at your room.

A member of our team meets you in person — usually in the Classic Hall lobby — hands over the scooter, walks you through the controls, brakes and charging, and answers any questions on the spot before you ride off. This personal handoff means you're never guessing how to operate the scooter — you're confident on it from minute one.

Your scooter is yours from check-in to checkout, so you never have to pick it up and drop it off at each park. When your stay ends, we collect it from the resort — no need to return it anywhere.

Choose from:

  • 200 lb travel scooter — lightest, two batteries, folds small
  • 300 lb folding scooter — full suspension, fits compact cars
  • 400 lb scooters in 3-wheel and 4-wheel versions
  • 500 lb bariatric scooter — 18 to 20 mile range
  • Premium scooters with sunshade, phone charger and captain's chair

Every rental on this page is 15% off. Live chat and texting are open 24/7.

Where to Charge Your Scooter & Battery Tips

▾

Charge your scooter overnight in your room — every room has standard outlets, and the charger is small enough to tuck behind the scooter. A full overnight charge is enough for a full park day on every model.

In the parks, outlets are easy to find near shops, restaurants and restrooms. Bring the charger with you if you plan a long day — a 30-minute top-up during lunch adds hours of range. The Premium models also include a built-in mobile charging port for your phone.

Range by model:

  • 200 lb — 10 to 12 miles (two batteries, 4 to 6 hours each)
  • 300 lb — 12 to 15 miles (6 to 8 hours)
  • 400 lb — 15 to 18 miles (10 to 12 hours)
  • 500 lb bariatric — 18 to 20 miles
  • Premium — up to 12 hours / 15.5 miles

Dining, Pools & Things to Do at Pop Century

▾

Everything Pop Shopping & Dining is the resort's food court and gift shop, all in one place, at Classic Hall. It has multiple food stations, an ice cream shop, a bakery, and grab-and-go options — open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Scooters roll right up to the ordering area, and there is plenty of open seating with scooter clearance. Petals Pool Bar is the poolside bar near the Hippy Dippy Pool.

Hippy Dippy Pool (1960s section) is the main feature pool, shaped like a giant flower with flower-shaped water jets spraying into the pool. It has zero-entry on one side and is the largest pool at Pop Century. The Bowling Pin Pool (1950s) and Computer Pool (1990s) are quieter alternatives, each themed to its decade.

Other things to do: the Fast Forward arcade in Classic Hall, the jogging/walking path around Hourglass Lake (which connects to Art of Animation), nightly Movies Under the Stars (check the activity calendar), a playground, and easy access to the Disney Skyliner for a scenic gondola ride to Epcot or Hollywood Studios.

Frequently Asked Questions

▾

How does delivery work at Pop Century?
We use meet-and-greet delivery only — a team member meets you in person at 1050 Century Drive, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830, usually in the Classic Hall lobby. We hand over the scooter, walk you through the controls and charging, and stay until you're comfortable. The scooter is yours from check-in to checkout.

Can I take my scooter on the Disney Skyliner?
Yes. Skyliner cabins are wheelchair- and ECV-accessible, with a separate stationary loading cabin so you can roll on at your own pace. All of our scooters fit within Disney's published size limit.

Is Pop Century big?
Yes — it is a large value resort with about 2,880 rooms across five decade-themed sections. The walk from the far 1990s building to Classic Hall is about 10 to 12 minutes on foot. This is one of the main reasons guests rent a scooter here.

Which scooter should I choose?
If you ride the Skyliner or Disney buses, the Premium Scooter with Sunshade is the easiest. Driving your own car? Take the 400 lb scooter. Small car or switching hotels? The 300 lb folds in seconds. The 200 lb is the lightest for short days, and the 500 lb bariatric model is for guests over 450 lbs.

How long does a charge last?
About 6 to 8 hours on the 300 lb, 10 to 12 hours on the 400 lb, up to 12 hours on the Premium, and an 18 to 20 mile range on the 500 lb.

Where do I keep the scooter in my room?
Inside your room, not in the hallway. Folding models tuck beside the bed, and you can plug the scooter in overnight so it is full for the next park day.

How do I reserve, and are there discounts?
Use any Reserve Now button on this page. Our live chat and texting are available 24/7. Every rental shown here is 15% off, and for stays longer than 7 days just ask us for a special rate.
