Resort Guide

Getting Around Disney's Art of Animation Resort on a Mobility Scooter

Everything you need to know about riding a scooter at Art of Animation — 1850 Animation Way, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830.

Art of Animation Overview & Animation Hall

▾

Disney's Art of Animation Resort sits at 1850 Animation Way, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830. It opened in 2012 and is the largest resort at Walt Disney World, with four themed sections based on beloved Disney and Pixar animated films: Finding Nemo, Cars, The Lion King, and The Little Mermaid. The main building is called Animation Hall, and it holds the lobby, Landscape of Flavors food court, the Ink & Paint Shop gift shop, the Righteous Reels arcade, and the Disney Skyliner station — one of the biggest perks of staying here.

Animation Hall is our meet-and-greet location. We meet you inside the lobby, hand over the scooter, walk you through the controls and charging, and stay until you're comfortable — no unattended drop-offs, no guessing how to operate it.

Rooms, Family Suites & Where to Store Your Scooter

▾

Art of Animation has two room types: Family Suites (Finding Nemo, Cars, and The Lion King sections) that sleep up to 6, and standard Little Mermaid rooms that sleep up to 4. Family Suites are roughly 565 square feet with a separate master bedroom, two bathrooms, a kitchenette, and a living area with a sleeper sofa and a Murphy bed.

The extra square footage in Family Suites makes parking and charging a scooter very easy. Standard Little Mermaid rooms are smaller — folding scooters fit fine, but larger scooters will be most comfortable in a Family Suite. Accessible rooms with roll-in showers are available — request one with Disney when you book. Disney asks that mobility devices not be left in hallways or walkways.

Pro tip: Request a ground-floor room or one near an elevator. The Little Mermaid section is closest to the Skyliner station; the Finding Nemo section is closest to Animation Hall and the main pool.

Scooter-Friendly Pathways & Themed Sections

▾

Art of Animation is a large resort — the walk from the Little Mermaid section to Animation Hall is about 10 minutes on foot, and up to 15 minutes from the far end of the Cars section. This is one of the biggest reasons guests rent scooters here. Paths are wide, flat, and paved — easy riding for any of our scooters.

From your room, expect a short ride to:

  • Animation Hall — lobby, Landscape of Flavors food court, Ink & Paint Shop, arcade, and Skyliner station
  • The Big Blue Pool — the largest resort pool at Walt Disney World, with underwater speakers and a Finding Nemo theme
  • Cozy Cone Pool — the Cars section pool, shaped like traffic cones
  • Flippin' Fins Pool — the Little Mermaid section pool
  • Drop Off Pool Bar, playgrounds, and the Righteous Reels arcade

There are no steep hills or stairs on the main routes. Watch for pooling water after a Florida afternoon storm — pavers near the pools can be slick, so slow down on turns.

Disney Skyliner & Bus Transportation With a Mobility Scooter

▾

Art of Animation is one of the few Walt Disney World resorts with direct Disney Skyliner access. The Skyliner station is right at Animation Hall, and from there you can ride directly to:

  • Disney's Hollywood Studios — direct route
  • Epcot International Gateway — direct route
  • Disney's Pop Century Resort and Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort — connecting line

The Skyliner cabins are wheelchair- and ECV-accessible. A separate stationary loading cabin lets you roll on at your own pace — Cast Members will slow or stop the line if needed. Disney's published maximum mobility device size is approximately 32 inches wide by 48 inches long, and all of our scooters fit.

For Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, the water parks and Disney Springs, Disney bus service is available from the bus stop at Animation Hall. All buses are equipped with ramps or lifts. Most carry only two devices at a time — allow extra time at peak hours.

Meet-and-Greet Delivery at Art of Animation

▾

Scooter King Orlando uses meet-and-greet delivery only at Disney's Art of Animation Resort, 1850 Animation Way, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830. We do not leave scooters unattended at your room.

A member of our team meets you in person — usually in the Animation Hall lobby — hands over the scooter, walks you through the controls, brakes and charging, and answers any questions on the spot before you ride off. This personal handoff means you're never guessing how to operate the scooter — you're confident on it from minute one.

Your scooter is yours from check-in to checkout, so you never have to pick it up and drop it off at each park. When your stay ends, we collect it from the resort — no need to return it anywhere.

Choose from:

  • 200 lb travel scooter — lightest, two batteries, folds small
  • 300 lb folding scooter — full suspension, fits compact cars
  • 400 lb scooters in 3-wheel and 4-wheel versions
  • 500 lb bariatric scooter — 18 to 20 mile range
  • Premium scooters with sunshade, phone charger and captain's chair

Every rental on this page is 15% off. Live chat and texting are open 24/7.

Where to Charge Your Scooter & Battery Tips

▾

Charge your scooter overnight in your room or suite — every room has standard outlets, and the charger is small enough to tuck behind the scooter. A full overnight charge is enough for a full park day on every model.

In the parks, outlets are easy to find near shops, restaurants and restrooms. Bring the charger with you if you plan a long day — a 30-minute top-up during lunch adds hours of range. The Premium models also include a built-in mobile charging port for your phone.

Range by model:

  • 200 lb — 10 to 12 miles (two batteries, 4 to 6 hours each)
  • 300 lb — 12 to 15 miles (6 to 8 hours)
  • 400 lb — 15 to 18 miles (10 to 12 hours)
  • 500 lb bariatric — 18 to 20 miles
  • Premium — up to 12 hours / 15.5 miles

Dining, Pools & Things to Do at Art of Animation

▾

Landscape of Flavors is the resort's food court in Animation Hall, with a wide variety of stations themed around different cuisines. Scooters roll right up to the ordering area, and there is plenty of open seating with scooter clearance. Drop Off Pool Bar is the poolside bar near The Big Blue Pool.

The Big Blue Pool (Finding Nemo section) is the largest resort pool at Walt Disney World — 11,859 square feet, zero-entry, with underwater speakers playing music and characters from Finding Nemo. The Cozy Cone Pool (Cars section) is shaped like traffic cones, and the Flippin' Fins Pool (Little Mermaid section) is the quieter option.

Other things to do: the Righteous Reels arcade, playgrounds, nightly Movies Under the Stars, a jogging trail around the resort, and easy access to the Disney Skyliner for a scenic ride to Epcot or Hollywood Studios.

Frequently Asked Questions

▾

How does delivery work at Art of Animation?
We use meet-and-greet delivery only — a team member meets you in person at 1850 Animation Way, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830, usually in the Animation Hall lobby. We hand over the scooter, walk you through the controls and charging, and stay until you're comfortable. The scooter is yours from check-in to checkout.

Can I take my scooter on the Disney Skyliner?
Yes. Skyliner cabins are wheelchair- and ECV-accessible, with a separate stationary loading cabin so you can roll on at your own pace. All of our scooters fit within Disney's published size limit.

Which scooter should I choose?
If you ride the Skyliner or Disney buses, the Premium Scooter with Sunshade is the easiest. Driving your own car? Take the 400 lb scooter. Small car or switching hotels? The 300 lb folds in seconds. The 200 lb is the lightest for short days, and the 500 lb bariatric model is for guests over 450 lbs.

Is the resort really that big?
Yes — Art of Animation is the largest resort at Walt Disney World. The walk from the Little Mermaid section to Animation Hall is about 10 minutes on foot, and up to 15 minutes from the far end of Cars. This is one of the main reasons guests rent a scooter here.

How long does a charge last?
About 6 to 8 hours on the 300 lb, 10 to 12 hours on the 400 lb, up to 12 hours on the Premium, and an 18 to 20 mile range on the 500 lb.

Where do I keep the scooter in my room?
Inside your room, not in the hallway. Folding models tuck beside the bed, and you can plug the scooter in overnight so it is full for the next park day. Family Suites have plenty of floor space for larger scooters.

How do I reserve, and are there discounts?
Use any Reserve Now button on this page. Our live chat and texting are available 24/7. Every rental shown here is 15% off, and for stays longer than 7 days just ask us for a special rate.
