Resort Guide

Getting Around Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort on a Mobility Scooter

Everything you need to know about riding a scooter at Caribbean Beach Resort โ€” 900 Cayman Way, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830.

Caribbean Beach Overview & Old Port Royale

โ–พ

Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort sits at 900 Cayman Way, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830. It opened in 1988 and is arranged around a 45-acre lake called Barefoot Bay. The resort is split into six themed villages โ€” Aruba, Barbados, Jamaica, Martinique, Old Port Royale, and Trinidad โ€” connected by a 1.4-mile promenade that circles the lake. The main building is Old Port Royale, home to Centertown Market food court, Centertown Shops, Banana Cabana pool bar, and the main feature pool.

Old Port Royale is our meet-and-greet location. We meet you inside the lobby, hand over the scooter, walk you through the controls and charging, and stay until you're comfortable โ€” no unattended drop-offs, no guessing how to operate it. If your room is in one of the outer villages, we can also meet you at the village's Skyliner station or the resort's designated pickup area on request.

Rooms, Villages & Where to Store Your Scooter

โ–พ

Caribbean Beach has about 1,536 rooms, all in two-story buildings spread across the six villages. Standard rooms sleep up to 4 and include two queen beds or one king; some rooms offer a 5th sleeper (a child-size pull-down bed) โ€” great for families of five. The Trinidad village also has Pirate-themed rooms with pirate ship beds, a big hit with kids.

Since the resort is spread out, where you stay matters with a scooter. Every village has its own quiet pool, bus stop, and parking. Accessible rooms with roll-in showers and grab bars are available โ€” request one with Disney when you book. Disney asks that mobility devices not be left in hallways or walkways, so plan to store your scooter inside your room.

Pro tip: Request a ground-floor room so you can ride in and out without using an elevator. Villages near Old Port Royale (Martinique and Old Port Royale) are closest to the main pool and food court; Trinidad is closest to the second Skyliner station.

Scooter-Friendly Pathways & the 1.4-Mile Promenade

โ–พ

Caribbean Beach is a large, sprawling resort โ€” that's why guests rent scooters here more than almost anywhere. Themed pathways circle the entire 45-acre Barefoot Bay, connecting all six villages to Old Port Royale. Paths are wide, flat, and paved, and mostly shaded by palm trees โ€” very comfortable riding.

From your room, expect a short ride to:

  • Old Port Royale โ€” Centertown Market food court, Centertown Shops, Banana Cabana pool bar
  • Fuentes del Morro Pool โ€” the main feature pool, themed like a Spanish fortress, with two waterslides (one 82-ft for adults, one smaller for kids) and a zero-depth entry area
  • Sebastian's Bistro โ€” the resort's signature restaurant, serving Caribbean-inspired cuisine
  • Spyglass Grill โ€” the quick-service spot in the Trinidad village
  • The Barefoot Bay promenade โ€” a 1.4-mile ride around the lake, perfect for a morning or evening cruise

There are no steep hills or stairs on the main routes. Watch for pooling water after a Florida afternoon storm โ€” pavers near the pools and along the promenade can be slick, so slow down on turns.

Disney Skyliner & Bus Transportation With a Mobility Scooter

โ–พ

Caribbean Beach is the hub of the Disney Skyliner system โ€” the gondola network has its main transfer station here, plus a second station in the Aruba village. From Caribbean Beach, the Skyliner connects you directly to:

  • Disney's Hollywood Studios โ€” one line from the hub
  • Epcot International Gateway โ€” another line from the hub
  • Disney's Pop Century Resort and Disney's Art of Animation Resort โ€” via the Pop Century line

Skyliner cabins are wheelchair- and ECV-accessible, with a separate stationary loading cabin so you roll on at your own pace. Cast Members will slow or stop the line for you. Disney's published maximum mobility device size is approximately 32 inches wide by 48 inches long โ€” all of our scooters fit.

For Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, the water parks and Disney Springs, Disney bus service is available from each village's bus stop. All buses are equipped with ramps or lifts. Most carry only two devices at a time โ€” allow extra time at peak hours.

Meet-and-Greet Delivery at Caribbean Beach

โ–พ

Scooter King Orlando uses meet-and-greet delivery only at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, 900 Cayman Way, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830. We do not leave scooters unattended at your room.

A member of our team meets you in person โ€” usually in the Old Port Royale lobby โ€” hands over the scooter, walks you through the controls, brakes and charging, and answers any questions on the spot before you ride off. If your room is in an outer village, we can also arrange to meet you at the village's Skyliner station or the nearest resort pickup area โ€” just let us know when you book.

Your scooter is yours from check-in to checkout, so you never have to pick it up and drop it off at each park. When your stay ends, we collect it from the resort โ€” no need to return it anywhere.

Choose from:

  • 200 lb travel scooter โ€” lightest, two batteries, folds small
  • 300 lb folding scooter โ€” full suspension, fits compact cars
  • 400 lb scooters in 3-wheel and 4-wheel versions
  • 500 lb bariatric scooter โ€” 18 to 20 mile range
  • Premium scooters with sunshade, phone charger and captain's chair

Every rental on this page is 15% off. Live chat and texting are open 24/7.

Where to Charge Your Scooter & Battery Tips

โ–พ

Charge your scooter overnight in your room โ€” every room has standard outlets, and the charger is small enough to tuck behind the scooter. A full overnight charge is enough for a full park day on every model.

In the parks, outlets are easy to find near shops, restaurants and restrooms. Bring the charger with you if you plan a long day โ€” a 30-minute top-up during lunch adds hours of range. The Premium models also include a built-in mobile charging port for your phone.

Range by model:

  • 200 lb โ€” 10 to 12 miles (two batteries, 4 to 6 hours each)
  • 300 lb โ€” 12 to 15 miles (6 to 8 hours)
  • 400 lb โ€” 15 to 18 miles (10 to 12 hours)
  • 500 lb bariatric โ€” 18 to 20 miles
  • Premium โ€” up to 12 hours / 15.5 miles

Dining, Pools & Things to Do at Caribbean Beach

โ–พ

Centertown Market (Old Port Royale) is the resort's quick-service food court, with stations themed around Caribbean cuisine. Scooters roll right up to the ordering area, and there is plenty of open seating with scooter clearance. Sebastian's Bistro is the signature table-service restaurant with Caribbean-inspired dishes. Spyglass Grill in the Trinidad village is a walk-up quick-service window for the far side of the resort. Banana Cabana is the poolside bar near the main pool.

Fuentes del Morro Pool is the main feature pool โ€” themed like a Spanish colonial fortress, complete with cannons, a shipwreck splash area for kids, and two waterslides. Zero-depth entry makes it easy to roll right in from the pool deck. Each village also has its own quiet leisure pool.

Other things to do: the Barefoot Bay promenade (1.4-mile walk or ride around the lake), bike and surrey bike rentals, volleyball courts, jogging trails, nightly Movies Under the Stars (check the activity calendar), and easy access to the Disney Skyliner for a scenic gondola ride to Epcot or Hollywood Studios.

Frequently Asked Questions

โ–พ

How does delivery work at Caribbean Beach Resort?
We use meet-and-greet delivery only โ€” a team member meets you in person at 900 Cayman Way, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830, usually at the Old Port Royale lobby. We hand over the scooter, walk you through the controls and charging, and stay until you're comfortable. If your room is in an outer village, we can also meet you at a nearby Skyliner station or resort pickup point.

Can I take my scooter on the Disney Skyliner?
Yes. Skyliner cabins are wheelchair- and ECV-accessible, with a separate stationary loading cabin so you can roll on at your own pace. All of our scooters fit within Disney's published size limit.

Is the resort really that big?
Yes โ€” Caribbean Beach is one of the largest resorts at Walt Disney World, with six villages spread around a 45-acre lake. The walk from the far Trinidad village to Old Port Royale is about 15 to 20 minutes on foot. This is one of the main reasons guests rent a scooter here.

Which scooter should I choose?
If you ride the Skyliner or Disney buses, the Premium Scooter with Sunshade is the easiest. Driving your own car? Take the 400 lb scooter. Small car or switching hotels? The 300 lb folds in seconds. The 200 lb is the lightest for short days, and the 500 lb bariatric model is for guests over 450 lbs.

How long does a charge last?
About 6 to 8 hours on the 300 lb, 10 to 12 hours on the 400 lb, up to 12 hours on the Premium, and an 18 to 20 mile range on the 500 lb.

Where do I keep the scooter in my room?
Inside your room, not in the hallway. Folding models tuck beside the bed, and you can plug the scooter in overnight so it is full for the next park day.

How do I reserve, and are there discounts?
Use any Reserve Now button on this page. Our live chat and texting are available 24/7. Every rental shown here is 15% off, and for stays longer than 7 days just ask us for a special rate.
